With Queen of the Ring finals came the opportunity of a lifetime for the one and only BOSS of the EBWF. A lot would be on the line for Sasha Banks, who was set to defend the women’s tag titles with her partner Summer Rae, as well as the potential to be the 2016 Queen of the Ring winner. This year, the royal rumble and slammy award for women’s wrestler of the year were not a part of her list of accomplishments, but becoming queen of the ring? This was something she didn’t plan to let slip out of her fingers. Being the Head Boss In Charge meant being on top of it all, in every aspect possible. And tonight, BOSSton’s Baddest hoped to prove her name wasn’t just a name. It’d become a legacy.
In the bottom corner, the words “earlier today” in bold letters captioned the screen along with the EBWF.net logo. The setting was a small area sectioned off with a black back drop, emboldened with the EBWF logo, and Renee Young initially to start off the segment.
Renee Young: Tonight’s a big night in the EBWF with the King of the Ring pay-per-view concluding the annual men and women’s tournaments. One lucky winner will be crowned king or queen. In a highly anticipated match-up all too familiar to the EBWF universe, Trish Stratus battles Sasha Banks once again to determine the 2016 Queen of the Ring.
The camera panned out to reveal Banks, who was standing to the left of Renee.
Renee Young: One of the most decorated women’s wrestlers in history goes one on one with one of the biggest up and coming talents to date in the women’s division. This isn’t the first time Trish Stratus and Sasha Banks have squared off with high stakes. In the past year, Trish Stratus won the women’s title from Banks at Fanniversary in November, effectively putting an end to a streak that could have set a new record for the longest reigning women’s champion in company history. Stratus and Banks were both shoe-ins for the Women’s wrestler of the year at the Slammy Awards back in March, with Stratus earning the award. The last time Trish and Sasha were in the ring together was at Aftermath, where Banks along with fellow Mean Girl Summer Rae won the tag team titles off of Natalya and Trish Stratus. It’s quite a bit of history between the two of you in a relatively short amount of time, compared to what both of you have done in your careers thus far.
Sasha Banks was looking over her shoulder, then looked past Renee.
Sasha Banks: My bad, I’m just keeping a lookout. I feel like Trish Stratus is gonna pop off in here any minute, since you’re speaking so highly of her.
Renee Young: I’m simply stating facts, Sasha.
Sasha Banks: You wanna speak facts, Renee? Let me give you one for free. You throw two people who have clawed their way to the top in the spotlight and only one is gonna come up standin’ in the middle. There ain’t room for two at the top.
Renee Young: So who can we expect to win tonight; you, or Trish Stratus?
Sasha Banks: Fact number two is a gimme. You’re standing in front of your 2016 queen of the ring.
Renee Young: That certainly won’t come easy. Before you even have the final match with Stratus, you have a tag team title defense with Summer Rae against Bayley and Blue Pants.
Sasha Banks: Fact three. Now you owe me, boo boo. I beat Bayley in this tournament. Besides Trish, Blue Pants is the only other person in this locker room I haven’t beat. But give it a few hours, and your girl can scratch her name off that list. Excuse me, sentence, because there isn’t anyone I can’t beat.
Renee Young: Except Trish Stratus?
Sasha looked irk at the statement because it was all too true.
Sasha Banks: Trish Stratus is the only person in this company who has always managed to one-up me every chance she gets. For someone to be able to say they’ve beat Sasha Banks, The BOSS, shouldn’t even be a thing. It should be impossible. Like, if those words were spoken, it should cause a wrinkle in time because it can’t be right. Trish Stratus has beat me, and I’ve snatched everyone there is to snatch, but that doesn’t make her the best…
Sasha wore a smirk.
Sasha Banks: Since Trish lost the tag team titles to us Mean Girls, she’s started that climb back to the top with queen of the ring. But boo boo, everyone is in for a surprise because I’m already at the top. I’m waiting. And when she gets back up here with me I’m kicking her back down and not even lookin’ over the edge of that cliff when she falls.
Renee Young: Am I sensing a little cockiness?
Sasha Banks: Call it cockiness, confidence, or feelin’ like the baddest chick on the block. It all ends up with me gettin’ that W.
Renee Young: I can’t help but wonder what you’re doing differently going into this match. It seems about as much Sasha Banks we’d get on any usual day.
Sasha Banks: If I wasn’t myself who would I be Renee? All I can do is be the best version of myself or don’t even show up. If I took that mentality from the start maybe I would be the true boss of this division right now, and not only stand in front of you as a tag team champion with Summer Rae, but as the women’s champion. But you have to realize… Trish Stratus ain’t the women’s champion either.
Renee Young: Alexa Bliss is the current women’s champion, and she’s also defending against Charlotte, someone who’s also working towards a bigger reputation here in the division.
Sasha Banks: Tuh. Yeah, we’ll see how far that goes, at this rate Alexa Bliss is second-to-none in being a flunkie, along with her little sidekicks. But tonight ain’t about them. It’s all about the future queen and king.
Renee Young: After tonight, where do you see yourself Sasha?
Sasha Banks: I see myself as a winner. But when it’s all done, there’s one thing I can say won’t change no matter the outcome. Myself and Trish Stratus? We’re gonna go out and prove we are in the queen of the ring final because we belong there. You can bet she knows where I’m comin’ from when I say that I don’t have to love her and that I don’t even have to like her, but I respect her after all we’ve done to each other… because that’s what a true BOSS is all about.
Renee Young: A history-making queen of the ring final in the works, for sure.
Sasha Banks: Oh, you can bank on that. Expect nothing less from Sasha Banks!
Sasha pulled a Mean Girls snap in Renee’s face before walking off the set. Renee turned back to the camera.
Renee Young: That’s if for now everyone, be sure to catch a legendary King of the Ring pay-per-view tonight, live with EBWF!
